8 Tips To Make Your Company Appear On Google

Hello! This is Lucas Dantas and, like you and me, many people use search engines when looking for information about a product or service they are interested in. Right?

Among today’s search engines, the one that stands out the most for the volume of use and the quality of the results is Google — and, not coincidentally, appearing prominently in the results is something that is increasingly desired by companies today.

With that in mind, I have put together below 8 tips to make your business appear on Google. Are you ready? Good reading!

1. Focus on SEO

Taking into account that almost no one accesses the results that are further down or outside the first page of Google, a strategy like this is very valuable for your business.

That’s because when listing the results of a search, Google doesn’t consider how big or important a particular company is. In fact, it takes into account a set of specific rules and SEO (or Search Engine Optimization). When you apply these rules to your website, it stands out in the top positions of organic searches — those that appear without the company having to pay for it.

In other words: when applying SEO, you will use keywords, friendly links, in addition to other characteristics valued by Google, which will leave the site prepared to appear in higher positions on the search results page. This is a job you can do without having to pay anything!

2. Invest in producing good content

As we can already see, a point that is highly valued by Google is good content. Sites that have quality texts keep visitors on them longer and the search engine is keeping an eye on that.

If a visitor enters your site and then leaves, it contributes to a worse performance. However, if you produce texts that are SEO-optimized, authorial and that really interest the target audience, your positioning in the results tends to be better.

3. Use Google Ads

Google Ads is Google’s sponsored links (ads) service. Investing in it allows your company’s website to appear on the first page of results quickly. However, this comes at a cost.

The secret here is to invest in the right keywords so that they can reach your target audience and, thus, you will only pay for the acquisitions or clicks that you actually receive, increasing the guarantee of results.

4. Conquer quality links (link building)

The practice of link building is very important because Google understands that the more sites “recommend” yours through links, the greater your authority on a given subject.

This is a strategy that can be a little complicated, as it is not easy to find companies that are willing to refer your website. The first step to conquering links on other sites, then, is to create amazing content that deserves to be mentioned!

There are also guest posts partnerships, which is basically publishing texts (with links to your site) on other sites and vice versa. If you want to pay for a link, that is also possible.

However, not all endorsements are the same: larger and more reliable sites, from companies such as Forbes and Business Insider, have a much higher value than common blogs that receive few visits, for example.

5. Use Search Console

Google Search Console assists in optimizing and monitoring a website’s performance in Google results, helping to check which pages are indexed, which keywords to use, the existence of links and so on. It is also a great tool for tracking the impacts of changes in algorithms.

In other words, it is possible to carry out a series of checks that help to identify whether the site is following all the rules determined by Google, which enhances its ability to appear in the top positions.

6. Put your business on Google Maps

There is a tool you can use to make your business stand out in search results: Google Business Profile (Former Google My Business). It allows you to include opening hours, photos and an address on Google Maps.

This relates the company to the location, helping in local searches, for people who are in your region of operation. In addition to, of course, allowing customers to know a little about it before they even arrive at the place. Interesting, right?

Another point is that your company also appears on the GPS of all drivers who use Google for navigation, being another way to become visible to customers.

7. Have a responsive layout

With the advancement of mobile technologies and the increasing use of mobile devices to carry out searches on the Internet, Google has given priority to websites that have a responsive layout.

“Responsiveness” is the ability to adapt to different screens. Fired up as one of the most used devices for navigation are smartphones, which demands content designed for smaller screens. So, if you haven’t already, invest in responsiveness and user experience.

8. Protect user data

Last but not least, security is another important aspect of Google rankings. To verify this, the search engine analyzes whether your pages are protected with an SSL certificate.

It encrypts information entered by users and offers more protection for browsing and data usage. Even Chrome itself, Google’s official browser, warns the user that a website is not safe if there is not a SSL certificate installed, which can be negative for conversions.

This means that, if you work with sales on your website, the lack of security will have a direct impact on the customer’s purchase decision, who will not feel confident to close a deal.
